I'm not a fan of the new Mac OS Yosemite or whatever it's called. I really liked the old iPhoto app and it made it very easy for me to categorize my photos for blogging. Now there's just a photos app and it doesn't clearly delineate stuff and I can't tell what I've already uploaded and saved and whatnot. Grrr.
That's partly why I got so behind with blogging.
Anyway, I'm now on to the most recent stuff.
Now that they have finished the dolphin moorings on the boardwalk / harbour / pier thing, boats are starting to use them. There have been some big fishing boats with little ones behind them.
Little boat on big boat. This makes me think of a Chihuahua humping a Great Dane. I can't help it. I'm 6 years old.
I started (and finished) a Merrily Cowl by IrishGirlieKnits using the Twisted Fiber Arts Muse in Toucan.
Bastian decided to help.
I wasn't sure if I would have enough yarn. I decided against an extra pattern repeat. Good idea, because there wouldn't have been enough.
The Muse is easier to knit with than the Arial. I love how drapey it is. The next skein should be a Tasty.
I am seriously thinking of getting an XL evolution skein of the new Pinot Noir in either Arial or Tasty (or possibly Muse). I want to make a stole or a throw of some sort. I considered getting two slightly smaller skeins and making something like Cluanarach by Anne Hanson. So many decisions.
Anyway, I am quite excited for the next skein. Surprisingly, this is another yarn club I am managing to keep mostly on top of.
Here we have Lilah the sentinel. Des is hunkering down in the space between the chair and the cushion. That's where Lilah often sleeps, so we call it the Lilah Pouch.
Sebastian has a ridiculously long tongue, but I think that's because of his massive lower jaw and underbite.
Desmond has his moments of preciousness as well.
There was another tiny White Birch Fiber Arts oops when I saw that Sock Monkey with the heel/toe skein was back. And Lisa is now dyeing gradient sets, which are lovely. I got Sweet Limey Love Monkey sock set, a Pinkety Pink sock set, and the Sock Monkey. (Which I now realize is called Monkey Business).
After two false starts using other yarn, I finally completed the second test knit sock for Laura Fahlin. This is her Box Hill sock. I used some old STR LW Paula Mae A Night at the Show. I was a little concerned that I wouldn't have enough for two socks because it's an old put-up with only 360 yards, but I weighed both the sock and the remaining yarn, and I should have about 3 grams to spare...
Yesterday my May BMFA RSC sock club arrived.
It's like a beautiful rose garden. I might do a previous sock club pattern instead of the spiral one which came as part of the May club.
And last but not least, on Thursday my latest Canon Hand Dyes minis arrived, but I didn't actually get them until Friday morning. The yarn is a new base -- Oscar -- and it's a glitter sock yarn. The theme is Midsummer Night's Dream. I think I might make a Monster Cowl or something out of it. The contrast skein is a steely wedgewood blue. As you know, that is probably my least favourite colour on the entire planet. I am quite enjoying other shades of blue right now, but I will never enjoy a grey blue of any sort.
But, having said that, it will make a great contrast to the minis. (Or.... maybe ..... hmm..... what about my TFA Plum Chutney? That might work as well.....)
Some of us didn't want to get out of bed this morning. Well, actually, none of us did.
That Box Hill Sock took me forever to do. So everything else was delayed. When I was done, I wanted some colour, so I went back to my Rainbow Warrior sock and also cast on a Teeter Totter by Kim Swingle in some BMFA STR LW in What the Foqua?
I should finish the first Rainbow Warrior this afternoon.
You can see the repairs to the yarn bowl.
And for those who are interested, here's a slightly bigger view of my messy craft desk area.
Okay, you are now completely caught up with my comings and goings in the world of fibery goodness. Now I have to go and update Rav. Ugh.
Ciao for now. See you in August. (Kididng).
Yes, I signed up for Tour-de-Sock this year but am not actually competing.
SO glad you are back! I was beginning to worry. Love your parade of socks. I thought I had a huge stash of sock yarn, but mine doesn't even come close to yours!! Knit on :-)

That STR colourway is rather special, as was the one you showed in the last post. Worried that you leave yarn in the open air though - don't you get moths?!
