So I *might* decide to do a color affection shawl. I've been trolling (trawling?) the Rav projects to see what kinds of combinations I like. My rule of thumb, however, is that all three skeins have to be the same type of yarn. No mixy matchy for me.
So I've been stash diving and have come up with some possibilities.
In closer up and in no particular order:
Sanguine Gryphon Bugga in something or other vibrant, mid-blues and dawn dropwing purple.
Wabi Sabi Goushas in purple, teal and ginger. (Or possibly subbing a dark pink for the purple).
Tanis Fiber Arts Purple Label in Charcoal, Autumn Sun and Sand:
Sweet Georgia Cashluxe Fine in ? Saltwater, Orchid and Ginger (hmm...looks a lot like the Wabi Sabis -- I sense a theme here).
HK Piquant Lite in Stick o' butter, Shanny Pants and Violeta. I'm kind of thinking not this particular yarn base -- I think it's a little thin.
Sweet Georgia Cashluxe Fine in Bison, Cayenne and Espresso. This one is really calling to me...
Woolen Rabbit (Harmony or Lucent) in Scottish Heather, Saltwater Taffy, and some sort of purpley thing.
Then there are some Zen Yarn Gardens in Serenity Sock 20. The dark is Blueberry Espresso, the light is Silver Wolf and there is a choice among Pansy (most solidly purple, some other colour which is greys and purples, and Pink Fizz).
Maybe that last one with the pink as the first colour, then the lighter one in the middle and the dark for the edgy bit.
What do you think? Of course, I'll have to get the pattern because I'm ahead of myself here, but I'm just preparing for any eventuality.
Love the one with dark gray, orange and light gray the most! Second would be the blue, purple, lime green. This particular colour combination happens to be on my mind right now, since I'm planning a Fair Isle sweater using those colours plus light blue and light yellow.
